When comparing the creation story in the first chapter of Genesis with that in the second chapter of Genesis, one can conclude that after speaking of creation, God continued to create and shape it.
After God spoke to Abraham and Abraham believed in Him, he continued to call himself “father of many nations” (Abraham) and to call his wife “mother of princes” (Sarah), even though they had no children.

You can imagine the expression on the faces of their neighbors and the servants in their household. I imagine them saying, “The old couple has lost their minds now. Imagine childless Abram calling himself the father of many nations and referring to old Sarai as the mother of princes… their religion has gone to their heads.” But ultimately, according to God’s word and their continued declarations, they had a child—Isaac—and became the father and mother of many nations.

When the Clouds Are Full of Rain…

Desire, when conceived, gives birth; this happens naturally, without force.

If the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth…” Ecclesiastes 11:3

Water evaporates from the surface of the earth, rises to form vapor, condenses, and eventually returns as rain.
No one needs to climb into the sky to force the clouds to release rain. When they are full, they pour naturally. In Genesis 2:4-9, we read:

These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens (at this point, God was speaking of creation), before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground. But a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground… And the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food…

When God spoke the Word, it was conceived in the spirit as a seed. Jesus said, “…the seed is the Word” (Luke 8:11). But the seed must grow. And how does it grow? By the rain that falls on it. Thus, after declaring the Word to change your situation, after meditating on it, this “word seed” must be watered to grow.

You might say, “Rain falls whenever it wants to,” but that’s not true. Rain doesn’t just fall; the clouds must first be watered. And you are the one who waters those clouds. Yes, the Bible says, “When the clouds are full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth…” But it’s your responsibility to water your clouds.

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater: So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11

You “water your clouds” with the Word of God. What kind of situations and circumstances do you want to prevail in your home? Start bringing them forth using the Word of God. The Bible says:

No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.” Psalm 91:10

Stop complaining and start “watering your clouds.” The situation may not change overnight, but the Word will certainly prosper in what it was sent to do. How long should you water your clouds? As long as it takes for the clouds to be full and pour out rain!

There’s no need to wait for favorable circumstances to speak. In fact, it’s when they are unfavorable that you need to speak the most.

He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap… In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand; for you do not know which will prosper, either this or that, or whether both alike will be good.” Ecclesiastes 11:4, 6

So, whether everything is going well or everything is going wrong, at all times, water your clouds!

Some people constantly complain about their business, job, or children. This is because they don’t realize they are not only watering bad seeds but also watering incorrectly. Constant complaints lead to negative confessions, which ultimately produce the same results. You can influence the future of your growing child. You can destroy the peace and tranquility of your home and marriage through negative words.

I once read about a tradition among Jewish mothers:
Every day, as their children grew, they would speak God’s blessings over their lives and confess His Word concerning them. The result was that, apart from these children growing more confident, the words followed them and caused them to prosper.

So, begin to sow good seeds and keep watering them with your confessions, and you will surely reap good fruits.
