GO AGAIN!
Life is full of obstacles but only those who are prepared to go again will overcome. Life is full of negative reports and they will remain that way except you go again. The only way to change your negative ve ports to positive reports is to go again, Even if your first, second and third attempts fail, go again. One of the things that hinder many people from attaining their goal of success in life is inconsistency and consistency is what you require to make impact.
In 1 Kings chapter 18, when Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel to pray for rain after three years of famine in Israel, the Bible says that “he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea” (verses 42-43). The servant looked and said, “There is nothing.” But Elijah sent him to look again seven times and the seventh time he said, “Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand.”
After Elijah’s servant had gone to check the sky six times and had seen nothing, he made him to go again. “And it came to pass at the seventh time…” he saw what he was looking for. If you are a ‘none goer’, your circumstances will remain, but a positive change will always come to pass for you if you are a ‘goer.’ So the place of repeated attempts cannot be overemphasized.
Even Jesus, when He touched the eyes of a blind man to heal him, asked him, “What do you see?” And the man said, “I see men walking as trees.” Jesus took him and touched him again, then his sight was restored and he began to see men clearly (Mk. 8:22-25). So, repetition is allowed till you get your required result. God never condemns you for making extra attempts, He only blames you for not attempting at all.
People have a tendency to count how many times they have tried and failed at the expense of considering how many more times they can attempt and breakthrough. Your past trials cannot be compared in effect to your next attempt. One more attempt is tough to erase all the disappointments, pains and failures of the past. If you don’t go again, you will be counted as a permanent failure.
You can see that the young man’s report could not deter Elijah. He put a seal on Elijah’s effort with his report, but Elijah was determined to see something happen so he repeated the exercise seven times and he got his desired result. That is why I often say, “You don’t have a right to your first excuse until you have made seven consistent unsuccessful attempts.” Even the Word of God needed to be tried by fire seven times before it could be qualified as perfect. If you ever make up to seven attempts in your pursuit, it is an indication that perfection is on your way, so go again. The beauty of your life is never formed except you remain consist-ent. Occasional disappointments, failures, inadequacies and weaknesses are allowed, but remain consist-ent.
Life will cost you something and if you give it what it takes, you will get what it contains. If you fail the first time, go again, because whatever God has spoken to you from His Word won’t come to your hand on a platter of gold, you have to clear the debris out of the way and persist till you get it. Disbelieve your negative feelings, disregard people’s opinion and go again.
Thomas Edison, the man that discovered the electric bulb went again and again and again, for 999 times, until he got it. Before his death, there were 1093 patents in his name. Your first attempt at success will most likely always hit the rock but don’t lose hope, go again. The answer you are searching for is there, just one more attempt will either deliver it into your hands or at least, get you closer to it…
