HE MAKES YOU SEE.
A very important aspect of the ministry of the Holy Spirit is that He “makes us see.”
“And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” (John 16:8).
The word “convict” is the same as correct, and it encompasses several biblical expressions in its meaning. Originally, it derives from two Latin terms meaning “making see” in the New Testament. The words “reproach,” “conviction,” and “illumination” are used to communicate the ministry of the Holy Spirit, through which He brings individuals to “see” (understand) the truth.
A man without the Holy Spirit is a blind man. He may not know it, but blindness is what it is. A blind man is not simply someone who cannot see; he may see well, but all he sees is darkness. It is the same in the spiritual realm. A blind man in the spiritual realm is one who does not know the things of the Spirit; he does not see the things of the Spirit of God. But when the Holy Spirit comes into your life, you will no longer be blind because He will make you see what others cannot see.
Every Christian must rely on this ministry of the Holy Spirit to help them understand the truth and respond accordingly.
HE WILL SHOW YOU THINGS TO COME AND GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH
“The Lord will give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction; yet your teachers will not be hidden anymore, but your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:20-21).
This is the work of the Spirit. He is your guide. When you take the wrong path, you will hear His voice telling you, “Stop, you are going the wrong way,” and He will lead you in the right direction. You no longer have to wander and be confused at life’s crossroads. If you have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, He will guide you on the right path to take.
“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; BUT AS THE SAME ANOINTING TEACHES YOU CONCERNING ALL THINGS, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him” (1 John 2:27).
What does it mean by “…and you do not need that anyone teach you”?
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-12).
Did He not just say that you do not need anyone to teach you? So why does He anoint teachers? Is God contradicting Himself? Well, this shows you that He is not saying no one can teach you. What He is saying is that only the anointing can teach you; only a teacher anointed by the Spirit of God can teach you under the anointing. This means that it is the anointing that teaches you when a teacher of the Word teaches you. God does not contradict Himself.
The anointing teaches you in various ways. The same anointing teaches you all things. You will no longer be ignorant because He will teach you. You may not have attended university, but He will teach you. You will no longer be unlearned when the Holy Spirit lives in you. He becomes your teacher. Jesus said that when the Spirit of truth comes, He will teach you all things. He did not say “some things,” but ALL THINGS. Glory to God!
All things in this life, all things about life, all things about God, ALL THINGS, the Holy Spirit can teach you if you ask Him or let Him. He will open the Word of God to you and unveil the realities of God. He will be your Teacher. He will show you what to do. When the Holy Spirit takes control of your life, you will be different…
