The notion of power is divine; it is God who is its creator. The ultimate institutional form is that of the kingdom. In heaven, there is no president, only kings, and God is the King of kings, not of presidents. In God’s perfect plan, the earth is a kingdom that must be governed by a king. This king receives royal power granted by the deity to whom he submits. The king is the chief and supreme judge until the end of his life; after his death, his offspring ensure the continuity of governance.

On the other hand, we note that democracy is a human idea, somewhat like a permissive will. Thus, why do some kings find themselves dethroned? Why do their reigns not last? Why does their power weaken, and they get overthrown after a while?

Skills are important; as a leader, the level of knowledge must be well above the norm, but humans are not managed with intelligence alone. While performance is essential, human resource management is paramount. This is because it is often the people who eject their leader. We can base this resurgence to affirm this point of view.

In 2011, Dean Kamen presented his new invention to the world: the Segway. Before that, he had invented a wheelchair for climbing stairs. But why was this new investment a failure? Simply because he did not apply himself to listening to criticism. A lasting reigns is one that listens; many have been elevated but have fallen because they refused to listen to opposing views from their surroundings. Yes, not all criticism is bad; there is not much substance to be drawn from praise other than attracting pride.

To reigns for a long time, one must learn to manage opposition and complaints, as they are partly what sustains domination but also the path to rally the majority to one’s side. Wisdom is the fear of God, according to Job 28:28. In the book of Proverbs, chapter 8:13, it is written:

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance, the way of evil and the perverse mouth, I hate.

It is foolish to do evil and hope to succeed in life and, in this case, to reign for a long time. Richard Nixon was involved in the Watergate scandal, a major political event in the United States in the 1970s. It began in 1972 when five men were arrested for breaking into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate hotel in Washington, D.C. It was later revealed that the burglars were connected to the committee for Nixon’s re-election and that the Nixon administration had tried to cover up the affair.

Subsequent investigations revealed that the Nixon administration had conducted illegal activities, including wiretapping and burglaries, to disrupt the 1972 elections. As a result, Nixon was forced to resign in 1974, and several of his aides were sentenced to prison.

How can one claim to be a good president while committing fraud? Many today claim to be influencers, but how can one influence when fundamentally false? Designer bags and shoes are appearances, and the items are all counterfeit, cheap. How can one have a lasting reigns based on lies? How can one be a good leader when one’s heart is inclined towards all that is false? It is simply not possible. I laugh when I see young people in exam rooms spending time cheating. These same young people will accuse the government of not doing its job well in ten years, while they are only incompetent cheaters caught by their vices.

The most disheartening part is that Nixon was leading in the polls before the 1972 elections and was considered the favorite to win the presidential race. However, it was later revealed that his campaign team had conducted illegal activities to disrupt the electoral campaign and ensure his victory. What do you think drives someone to act in such a manner?

It is evident that the lack of wisdom destroys everything in its path. He risked his credibility for elections he was supposed to win, and these illegal activities undermined Americans’ trust in their government for years. Truly, I tell you, the voice of wisdom will lead you to do good. When you lose or destroy, it is not always because God gives and takes away, but often due to your lack of wisdom.

Do you know Emperor Nero? His story is incredible! Nero was a Roman emperor who reigned from 54 to 68 AD. He is particularly known for his cruelty and tyranny. He was also allegedly involved in the Great Fire of Rome in AD 64, which led to the persecution of Christians. He persecuted Christians for political and religious reasons, especially because they refused to recognize the emperor as a god.

Politically, Christians were seen as a threat to the Roman Empire because their religion was different from traditional Roman religion, and their loyalty was to God rather than the emperor. This was considered an affront to the emperor’s authority. According to historians, he was inherently evil and was responsible for the murder of his mother, Agrippina, because he believed she was too ambitious and sought to exert excessive influence over him and state affairs. Regardless, Agrippina’s death was a shocking act and contributed to Nero’s reputation as a cruel and tyrannical emperor.

Furthermore, it is reported that he set fire to Rome. Some say he did it because he wanted to rebuild the city in his own way, while others think it was an accident. After the Great Fire of Rome in AD 64, Nero sought to divert suspicion from himself and blamed the Christians for the fire. He launched a violent persecution against Christians, accusing them of setting the city on fire and practicing an illegal religion. Christians were arrested, tortured, and executed in large numbers, and their community was destroyed.

We observe a completely strange emperor, not only willing to murder his mother for power but also to evade responsibility for his actions. He finds a way to punish a popular mass for a responsibility he knows is his. How can progress be made if the cause we defend is egocentric? He wants to be a god, wants everyone to be loyal to him, and tolerates no opposition. He is quick to destroy buildings, families, and lives. Later, he modernized Rome, ordered the reconstruction of many buildings, and new neighborhoods. He also organized games and shows to entertain people and improve the city’s image.

However, he never did it for the good of others but to strengthen his power and popularity, and also because he had a great interest in architecture and culture. During the hegemony of the Roman Empire, emperors had a strategy of organizing public events to distract the people, leading to increased popularity and consolidation of power.

Wisdom is the element that allows us to measure the stakes of each situation; it is through wisdom that we know how to set a priority order. When humans start to succeed, when they are successful, they quickly forget their priorities; they spend more time rejoicing in their success than consolidating it…
