The Commitment to Walking in Intimacy with God.
For this, the Holy Spirit must undertake a work with you aimed at uprooting what has not been sown by God in order to make room for the seed of His Word. Indeed, it is written:
“Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runs out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” (Matthew 9:17)
Commitment means truly deciding, for the present and the future, to walk with God and seek Him with all your heart.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8)
Unfortunately, many of us, thinking we are seeking God, are actually only seeking His promises, without really trying to know Him or His will. Others will accept Him as Savior but will stop there. This only makes them believers, whereas God wants us to be much more than believers. He desires to have an intimate relationship with us, like that of a father with his child or even that of a husband with his wife.
For this, we must draw near to Him and abide in Christ. At this stage, I would like you to look within yourself, to find yourself like the prodigal son who realized that it was advantageous for him to stay in his father’s house to know him and become one with him. Remember this verse:
“And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22)
Prayer:
“Lord, I thank you for allowing me to return home, for leading me to commitment because I wish to continue this walk with You. You know my weaknesses, but Your Word declares that it is You who creates in us the will and the act. I pray, create in me a thirst and hunger for You. I would like to have a little more of Your Spirit each day because only He can lead me there. I thank You once again and I believe that my prayer has been answered in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
