Your Choice in Marriage is Your Decision of Destiny.
Yes, it is true that your choice is your decision of destiny because marriage involves destiny and life. Your marriage cannot be better than your choice. So, make the right choice, and you will enjoy your marriage! God is interested in the choice of whom you will marry because if you marry the daughter or son of Satan, Satan will be your father-in-law and will surely visit you at will.
Before entering into marriage, you must sit down and weigh the “cost” because it is a continuous commitment, not a temporary one. It’s not the start of something that matters, but how well you finish it. Many people are good at starting, but mediocre at finishing. Your choice of who to marry as a life partner can build you up or ruin you. Your choice is your decision and entails your responsibility. And you will have to live with the resulting consequences for the rest of your life. God is truly interested in whom you will marry because the choice you make today will influence your future and destiny.
Life is very long, and marriage is a very long journey. There are many years ahead for the bride and groom after they say, “Yes, I do.” Many things will happen, and much more will occur. There will be water flowing under the bridge. In light of all this hard reality, will your marriage build you up or break you down? That’s why God is concerned about whom you will marry. The person you marry is not just a matter of life on earth but also a matter of heaven or hell.
When God instructed the Israelites, He was very concerned about whom they might marry because He did not want anyone to turn their hearts away from Him. God knew that a woman could influence her husband, and the husband could also influence his wife. So, don’t be like King Solomon, who lost his wisdom because he married many women, and they turned his heart away from God.
Choice is an act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities: the choice between good and evil, for example. Choice is opting for one or more things from a range of available possibilities. It is having the right or ability to act freely or the possibility of opting for one’s preference. Choices are often influenced by certain factors, either positive or negative.
But one of the factors that can influence your decision or choice is undoubtedly knowledge, as it is powerful. The information you have about something will help you make a decision quickly (Proverbs 1:29). The elements you need to make good decisions or choices are in the Bible. Pray this prayer:
Father, my knowledge is very limited; please, Lord, You know all things, and You are the God of all knowledge! Guide me to make the right choice and the right decision. The greatest and most important decision you will have to make in life is choosing a partner.
