This is one of the most beautiful evidences of the presence and influence of the Holy Spirit in your life.

Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is deemed a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness will abide in the fruitful field.” (Isaiah 32:15-16)

This passage shows us that we become productive when the Spirit of God comes upon our lives. The anointing of the Spirit of God makes us productive; it causes us to bear fruit. The anointing impacts our lives and produces these results within us. Your life may feel like a desert—things may go wrong—until the Spirit is poured out on you from above. It is the Spirit that changes everything.

The Holy Spirit is the One who unveils the glories and blessings of God the Father to us. He is the One who brings us into the Father’s presence and makes God’s blessings a reality in our lives. I wish more people understood what the anointing does. Remember, the anointing of the Spirit of God is connected to the presence of God.

When Isaiah 32:15 says, until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high,” it means, “until the anointing comes upon us.”

However, we are not among those who wait for the anointing to come. If you have received the Holy Spirit of God, then the Spirit has already been poured upon you from above. When the Spirit is poured out on us from on high, there is no need to struggle to transform the desert—it happens naturally!

You might look at your life and see so much unproductivity. You might wonder, “How far have I come? What have I achieved in my life?” Perhaps your home feels like a desert, your finances are no better, your health is deteriorating, and your life seems unproductive in every area.

Your life can only remain a desert until there is an outpouring of the Spirit upon you.

On the land of my people thorns and briers shall grow, yes, on all the happy homes in the jubilant city. For the palace is forsaken, the populous city deserted; the hill and the watchtower will become caves forever, a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks, UNTIL THE SPIRIT IS POURED UPON US FROM ON HIGH. (Isaiah 32:13-15a)

There may be drought and unproductivity in every area; the situation may appear more desperate than ever. But all of this continues until the release of God’s presence.

When the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you, He transforms your desert into a fertile field; water will spring forth from your desert. You will experience productivity and growth in every sector of your life. You will progress. There will be an explosion of blessings to your right and your left.

You might think, “Right now, I don’t experience drought in my life; my life is not unproductive.” Good! Thank God for that. But there is always something better. Your fertile field can become a forest. Read Isaiah 32:15-16 again, and you’ll understand. This means you can be even more productive spiritually and financially. Your life can impact more people for Jesus. You can transition from experiencing divine healing to enjoying divine health. There is always something better for you in Christ!

Thus says the Lord who made you, who formed you from the womb and will help you: Fear not, O Jacob my servant, Jeshurun whom I have chosen. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing upon your descendants. They shall spring up among the grass like willows by flowing streams. (Isaiah 44:2-4)

This should bring joy to your heart. God is interested in helping you. He wants to help you live a better life.

“Water” in verse 3 refers to the Holy Spirit. When you thirst for the fullness of the Holy Spirit, you will receive Him. God has promised to pour His Spirit upon your seed and His blessing upon your descendants.

This doesn’t refer only to your children. Your seed is everything that proceeds from you. Your thoughts, ideas, work, and money are all your seed because they represent you. When God pours His Spirit upon your seed, you become more productive than ever before. It will flourish like grass and grow like willows by flowing streams. No wonder the Lord Jesus said:

“...If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.‘” (John 7:37-38)

Not only does He make you productive, but He also ensures your productivity positively impacts others. If rivers of living water flow from your heart, they will surely affect you and those around you.

Yes! When the Spirit comes, He transforms your desert into a fertile field and your fertile field into a forest. Be ready for increased productivity in your life!

I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. And I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. I will summon the grain and make it abundant and lay no famine upon you. (Ezekiel 36:27-29)

Understand what God is saying here. He says, I will put My Spirit within you, and I will clear the mess from your life, and I will summon the grain.

That’s prosperity. When the Holy Spirit begins to dwell in you, He will summon the grain. There are too many believers walking without direction and wondering why. But prosperity comes through the Holy Spirit!

In the Church of Jesus Christ, there have been many sermons about prosperity. We’ve said, “When you give, God will give back to you.” But it doesn’t end there. That’s not the whole truth—it’s only a half-truth. The truth must be the whole truth. Many of God’s people give, for instance, they offer their gifts, yet it doesn’t seem to return to them multiplied as God said it would. The issue lies with them.

Let me tell you this: When you sow your seed, if there’s no rain and no water, something will go wrong with the seed. The Bible says, Ask rain from the Lord in the season of the spring rain, from the Lord who makes the storm clouds, and he will give them showers of rain, to everyone the vegetation in the field. (Zechariah 10:1). This speaks of the Holy Spirit!
