In February 1959, the Lord appeared to me in a vision while I was in El Paso, Texas. He came into my room at 6:30 p.m., sat in a chair by my bed, and talked to me for about an hour and a half. I will go into more detail about this later in the book. He spoke to me about the ministry of a prophet (Ephesians 4:11,12).
Then He told me, “I have not appointed prophets to guide the New Testament Church. My Word declares: “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. But if you are ready, I will teach you how to follow my Spirit. I would like you to then let my people know how to be led by the Spirit.” Twenty years have passed, and to my shame, I must confess that my teaching has hardly dwelt on this subject. I have merely touched upon it from time to time. I have never made an in-depth study of it.
So, not long ago, the Lord called me to order. So I set to work, and this book is one of the results.
