If you are already sick…

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. If you don’t want healing for yourself, at least desire it for the temple of the Holy Spirit that you are! You need to be in good health in order to serve God fully. If you are currently sick, you can already serve with what you have—it would be a shame to use illness as an excuse not to serve God.

“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.“ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

The context of these verses is an exhortation to flee sexual immorality, but it is also possible to flee sickness. It is a battle—the fight of faith—and in Jesus Christ, victory is assured through faith in God.

There is NO condemnation in Christ. I am sometimes shocked by the way Christians speak to certain sick people. Someone might say to a paralyzed person: “Well, why are you still in that wheelchair? Don’t you know that God heals?” Another might say: “Ah, if you had faith, you would be healed.” Some even think or say: “Ah, if I could take your sickness, I’d be healed immediately with my faith.”

Such statements, when said without love, are utterly foolish, cruel, devilish, and contrary to the nature of God. Sometimes, it’s better to say nothing and simply pray. You cannot just approach any sick person under the pretext of having a “good exhortation.” Be sure you are led by the Holy Spirit this will often prevent many tears from the sick. Jesus didn’t run after every sick person, but He responded to those who came to Him.

To you who are sick: God loves you with an everlasting love, and you are precious in His sight. He wants to bless you, build you up, and bring you the healing you need but He will never condemn you because a sickness has taken root in you.

God’s desire is to heal ALL the sick (including you) and to heal you from ALL your diseases.

“Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;“ Psalm 103:3

“When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,” Matthew 8:16

“But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.“ Matthew 12:15

“And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent out into all that surrounding region, brought to Him all who were sick, and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well.“ Matthew 14:35-36

“Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them.“ Matthew 15:30

“And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.” Matthew 19:2

“Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.“ Acts 5:16

Never believe that you are the exception to the rule. Instead, believe in the Word of God.

Let’s declare today:

“Lord, thank You that by Your stripes I have been healed. Thank You because under the old covenant You healed all our diseases, You healed all who came to You on earth, and You continued to heal through Your disciples after Your resurrection. Whatever symptoms I may have, they are not the disease, so I reject these symptoms. If I am sick, thank You Lord, because this sickness does not belong to me. Thank You Father, because every spirit of sickness is subject to You, every disease must bow before You and flee from my life. In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, I am completely healed in Christ, I am restored, I am delivered. Amen!”

If today your sickness has a demonic origin, I command every evil spirit of sickness to leave your life in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Sick spirits, leave the bodies right now. Diseases, I bind you and command you to leave the bodies in the name of Jesus Christ.
