In middle school, we learned from the electrostatic principle that when certain objects are rubbed against others and react to an electrostatic test, it is due to a transfer of electrons that occurred during the contact.

The new object then carries a small electric charge which it quickly loses when it transfers it to another object or when it comes into contact with the ground.

The principle of the impregnation of objects by anointings is quite similar to the electrostatic principle, as contact with the source of anointings allows the object to become impregnated with those anointings. This is how handkerchiefs and cloths that had touched Paul, or Peter’s shadow, brought healing—just as if these servants of God had laid hands on the sick.

These objects had indeed received a transfer of anointing and became imbued with it until the anointing was released upon the sick. The object at that moment becomes a conductor and/or an indirect secondary source of anointing.

Conductivity of Objects

The ability to transmit anointing requires an object that serves as both a receiver and a conductor. But this spiritual principle can only occur under specific conditions:

• Existence of a divine source.
• Existence of a need for which the anointing is the answer.
• The anointing is overflowing from the source.
• The object is potentially receptive.

It is important to clarify here that the object will never become a source itself—it remains a temporary conductor of anointing. This is where we draw the line between idolatry and a prophetic act directed by the Holy Spirit.

Idolaters always see objects as permanent sources of anointing; their faith is based on the objects and not on God. With their conscience thus defiled, they fall away from the Christian faith through religious syncretism.

Many believe that oil heals, that salt casts out demons, and hold to many other non-evangelical beliefs.

Understanding this principle correctly can be life-changing for many sincere individuals who are seeking the manifestation of God’s charisms for their lives and ministries. That is why I recommend that servants of God who operate prophetically and are sensitive to these kinds of spiritual operations involving anointed objects be vigilant, to understand and teach these subtle mechanisms that can mislead many simple souls.

The Non-Permanence of Impregnation

Human beings have a natural tendency to seek physical symbols of spiritual things. This often leads them to adopt objects and give them undue importance, as if they were sources of power. Venerating objects is a blatant form of idolatry, as we have already said repeatedly, because they can only serve as a vehicle in spiritual matters.

The object impregnated with anointing does not become a source but rather a channel of transmission. It becomes an ordinary object again after the anointing has been transmitted. This is a fundamental principle that clearly distinguishes an action of the Holy Spirit on objects from a demonic action leading to idolatry.

The bronze serpent made by Moses served as a channel of healing for the people in the desert but later became a source of idolatry because the people failed to understand that this object could only function under Moses’ ministry and under the specific circumstances directed by the Spirit of God.

Impregnation was only possible in the fulfillment of the specific mission that God gave to His servant. Hezekiah had the wisdom to destroy that object. Some pastors today should follow his example and destroy idols they possess, which were at the beginning instruments God permitted them to use.

The channeling of anointings through objects is an exceptional and special measure of the Kingdom. It is neither repetitive nor permanent on the objects. This means that an experience with one servant of God will not necessarily be repeated in a similar experience with another. This is also because some sick people could not travel, nor could the servants of God come to pray for them.

I remember a servant of God who covered a sick person with his jacket and healing was immediate. He blew on another, which resulted in the same outcome. This is not the case for all servants of God. Blowing on someone does not heal.

The impregnation of anointing is not permanent on objects but obeys very specific circumstances determined by the Spirit…
