Definition

Wind being a symbol of one of the manifestations of the Holy Spirit or Spirit of God, or God at work.

At the beginning;

In Hebrew, the word “ruah” means “breath,” “wind,” “Spirit,” suggesting that the Spirit of the Lord produced the wind that opened a passage in the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21; 15:8). Poetically, the song refers to this wind as the “breath from the nostrils of the Lord.” Spirit, breath, wind, river (John 7:37-39), the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 2:7; Psalms 18:16; Job 3:9-10; Job 33:4).

The natural elements are in the service of the sovereign and creative God (Exodus 14:21; Matthew 8:23-27), and all these natural elements of creation and all the works of His hands are given to the sons of God, the Christians, to rule and subdue all things (Genesis 1:26-28; Psalms 8:6-10).

For it is written in Romans 8:19-23:

• “So, the creation eagerly waits for God’s children to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.“

• The Bible says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1).

• The Bible says, “The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” (Genesis 1:2-5).

• The Bible says, “Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.‘” (Genesis 1:26).

• The Bible says, “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.” (Genesis 2:7; Exodus 15:8; Job 4:9; Psalms 18:9; Isaiah 65:5).

• The Bible says, “A river flowed from the land of Eden, watering the garden, and then dividing into four branches. The first branch, called the Pishon, flowed around the entire land of Havilah, where gold is found. The gold of that land is exceptionally pure; aromatic resin and onyx stone are also found there. The second branch, called the Gihon, flowed around the entire land of Cush. The third branch, called the Tigris, flowed east of the land of Ashur. The fourth branch is called the Euphrates.” (Genesis 2:10-14).

• The Bible says, “Then the Lord said, ‘My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh.’” (Genesis 6:3).

• The Bible says, “Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. So, don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” (John 3:6-8).

Who Is the Holy Spirit or the Mighty Wind of the Holy Spirit.

Etymologically,

• pneuma is the doctrine of the Holy Spirit.

• Pneuma comes from the Greek word meaning “breath” or “spirit.”

• Tologie is the study or doctrine.

• The Holy Spirit is God.

In the time of the Old Testament, the Father was the most prominent person; during His time on Earth, Jesus, the Son of God, was the most prominent, and today, in the era of the Church, the Holy Spirit is the most prominent person.

The Holy Spirit is not only a divine person, He is God! (Acts 5:3-4).

The Lord Jesus affirms this in the passages of John 16:13. He calls Him “the Comforter.” He refuses to use the neutral pronoun, which would have been normal in Greek for the word “spirit” (pneuma). He chose to use the masculine pronoun “when He,” the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth…

Just as your personality is unique, so is the Holy Spirit’s. We can first begin to grasp the spiritual or supernatural before understanding and engaging with the natural or physical. The natural or physical submits to the spiritual or supernatural law! It is by the Holy Spirit and His power that we can do great things, to crush the devil, our enemies, and our adversaries, in the name of Jesus Christ!

The Holy Spirit is much greater than the power He possesses. We study two (2) groups or categories of winds; one is supernatural or spiritual symbolically, but it is the person of God in the person of the Holy Spirit. the other consists of natural winds, numbering four.

The Holy Spirit as God is the origin of the creation of the other natural winds because the Holy Spirit is God; God, the creator of all visible and invisible things such as dignities, dominions, authorities, principalities, etc.

The Holy Spirit was at the creation, and He participated and created because He is God, He is the third person of the Trinity. He is in the Godhead.

Job said, “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” (Job 33:4).

It is the Holy Spirit or the Spirit of God who animates and gives life to all of creation. The Holy Spirit is the origin of all life. Everything was created by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16).

The Holy Spirit is God; He is symbolized by the supernatural or spiritual wind. Through the Holy Spirit and His power, we can overcome the flesh and the devil, subdue all creation under our feet, and have dominion over all the works of His hands and over our enemies in the name of Jesus Christ! (Romans 8:19-23; Psalms 8:5-10).

Knowing the Origin of the Wind of the Holy Spirit.

Because the Holy Spirit is God. His origin is God. Therefore, as one of the manifestations of the Holy Spirit, the geographical origin of each of these winds varies according to its source and the direction from which it comes. As we have seen, the four ordinary or natural winds (north wind
