The Church of the twenty-first century reflects in this way because as our knowledge grows, we become more logical than spiritual. Faith today is gradually leaving ‘madness’ as described by Paul and is beginning to fit into a logical sequence of human understanding.

Sometimes, due to all our extensive studies in theology and the humanities, we want to reduce the mysteries of God to the level of reflection and human understanding. What we do not find logical is rejected, and what seems logical to us is automatically accepted.

“…the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God…” (1 Corinthians 1:18-27)

When your faith is no longer seen as foolishness by the people of this world, firstly, know that in their eyes you are no longer different from them, and secondly, you begin to slowly close the door to divine mysteries, as these can only be accessed through faith, which is foolishness to men but the righteousness of God.

However, all of this can be understood. We are, above all, humans, and man is reason, intelligence, reflection, and logic. That’s why we need to remind ourselves of spiritual matters from time to time so as not to lose the advantages related to our spiritual being. Job declares:

“But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding.” (Job 32:8)

We need to know that we are spirits. And as spiritual beings, we must be aware of our spiritual assets as much as we are aware of our physical assets. Benefiting from spiritual assets is only possible when we become aware of the spiritual world. Many children of God today are very skeptical when we talk about angels, miracles, signs, wonders, or visions because they fear it may be occultism, sorcery, or magic, while with open hearts, we accept messages about spiritual warfare, demons, and all that frightens us.

With the proliferation of horror movies and all the cinematic portrayals of ghosts, monsters, and zombies, we become much more aware of the dark side of the spiritual world than the illuminated side. We become more aware of our enemies and less aware of our allies. Today, we know everything about demons but nothing about angels.

This is why we are always afraid, ineffective in spiritual warfare, and constantly scare each other with testimonies of former sorcerers, fetish priests, and occultists. Believe me, this is a trick of the devil to keep us captive through fears that paralyze us and lead us to blatant skepticism.

Even in the Church, we no longer want to share because we do not know the state of the other person’s soul. We no longer want to open up to others because we fear the evil spirit that might possess them. This mentality weakens us more and more because one of the secrets to being effective in prayer is sharing topics and praying together. But how can we pray with another person if they could be the enemy? The children of God are thus divided.

Unfortunately, this has become the situation in the Church. All of this is because we have a strong awareness of our adversaries but a weak knowledge of our allies, those who fight alongside us, and all the spiritual advantages we can enjoy from them. This is why subjects like this one are very important…”
