A. The Reality of Soul Ties

The spirit of death manifests differently depending on the personality of the individual it targets. You must be cautious because numerous situations can open the door to the spirit of death and create unhealthy soul ties with it. These may include:

  • Suicide attempts;
  • Murders;
  • Abortions;
  • The loss of a loved one;
  • Narrow escapes from drowning or near-miss accidents;
  • Attempted abortions;
  • Rape;
  • Armed conflict, fratricidal wars, or genocides involving bladed weapons (knives, machetes, etc.);
  • Nocturnal spiritual attacks in which you experience your death accompanied by funeral scenes;
  • Self-hatred, feelings of rejection, abandonment, loneliness, depression, self-destruction, or birth traumas (such as unwanted pregnancies).

B. Specific Case of the Spirit of Death Creating a Negative Soul Tie

The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in the darkness like those long dead. – Psalm 143:3

Losing loved ones is always painful. The grieving process is meant to bring closure to the normal emotional attachment we had with the deceased. However, if the grieving process extends beyond the “normal” period and the soul tie continues in an unhealthy manner, it indicates that mourning is blocked, unfinished, and pathological. This condition may lead individuals to isolate themselves in sorrow, pain, suffering, denial, a refusal to live, or even a desire to join the deceased, making it impossible to move forward.

Such circumstances open one or more doors to unhealthy spiritual influences, specifically the spirit of death. Some people may go as far as attempting to communicate with the deceased, thereby opening doors to other demonic entities. When invoking a deceased person, it is not the loved one who manifests, but demons taking on their appearance. In such cases, soul ties are often accompanied by spiritual ties.

Then the woman asked, ‘Whom shall I bring up for you?’ ‘Bring up Samuel,’ he said. When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, ‘Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!’ The king said to her, ‘Don’t be afraid. What do you see?’ The woman said, ‘I see a spirit coming up out of the ground.’ ‘What does he look like?’ he asked. ‘An old man wearing a robe is coming up,’ she said. Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground. Samuel said to Saul, ‘Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?’ ‘I am in great distress,’ Saul said. ‘The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has departed from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do.’ Samuel said, ‘Why do you consult me, now that the Lord has departed from you and become your enemy?’ – 1 Samuel 28:11–16

You boast, ‘We have entered into a covenant with death, with the realm of the dead we have made an agreement. When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by, it cannot touch us, for we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place.’” – Isaiah 28:15

Your covenant with death will be annulled; your agreement with the realm of the dead will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge sweeps by, you will be beaten down by it.” – Isaiah 28:18
