EVIL WORDS
In the book of Numbers, chapters 22 and 23, the Bible speaks of two men: one is Balak, king of Moab, and the other is Balaam, a prophet of the Lord God.
When the people of God came out of Egypt, they set up camp in the plains of Moab, across from the Jordan. The Moabites were terrified, including King Balak, upon seeing this numerous people; they were seized with fear. Their fear was that their land would be taken from them without being able to do anything about it. In this situation, Balak, king of Moab, sent envoys to Balaam, the prophet of God, in the land of Pethor, by the river.
“He sent messengers to Balaam, son of Beor, at Pethor, which is by the River, in the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying, ‘Behold, a people has come out of Egypt, and they cover the face of the earth, and they are dwelling opposite me. Come now, I beg you, curse this people for me, for they are too powerful for me; perhaps then I will be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land. For I know that whomever you bless is blessed, and whomever you curse is cursed.’” (Numbers 22:5-6).
The message sent to Balaam was clear: Balaam was to come and curse the people of God.
What is an evil word?
As the name suggests, an evil word is a word accompanied by a curse. This word is often spoken in a convent, before a satanic altar, in a desert, in a sacred forest, on a hill, on a mountain, before the sea, before a lake, before a river, a lagoon, etc.
This is often done at strategic hours: midnight, one o’clock in the morning, three o’clock, five o’clock, six o’clock, nine o’clock, twelve o’clock, one o’clock in the afternoon, three o’clock, six o’clock in the evening, seven o’clock, nine o’clock, eleven o’clock, or at mirrored hours, etc.
Many people today are known for casting spells on others, cursing, etc. What kind of child of God are you? Are you one who curses your brothers? Or one who speaks ill of His servants? What is your reputation in the Lord? Do you have Balaam’s reputation?
Balaam was known for cursing and also for blessing, and his reputation spread across borders. Today, we see that there are people who have a reputation for doing evil wherever they go. But here is what they forget: there are people who are so blessed that it is impossible for human or enemy schemes to reach them. There are people so blessed that they cannot be cursed. Israel was blessed and could not be cursed, but Balak did not know this.
Certainly, Balak had already tried his enchantments against the people of God in vain. And as evil attracts evil, he had learned of a man named Balaam who had the power to curse. You too may be attacked in countless ways, but your God has not allowed evil to reach you. However, every time the enemy fails, he tries to call upon stronger forces to achieve his goal of destroying you. What Balaam has been hired to curse you?
Even today, we have “Balaams” in the church. Let us abandon these unstable syncretisms, for that is not what God has called us to! Let us sincerely repent so that the hand of God may be upon us and not against us! Let us be true worshippers for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ!
“When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” (2 Chronicles 7:13-15)
Beloved, you must understand that those who fight against you are not truly fighting against you but against God, and they will never be victorious in that battle.
“See, today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar, and a bronze wall against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests, and the people of the land. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you, declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 1:18-19).
Know this: no one can curse whom God has blessed!
