But when his heart became arrogant and his spirit hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory.Daniel 5:20, also meditate on Ezekiel 16:49-50.

Pride is destructive; flee from it.

All problems have causes, effects, and sometimes solutions depending on the circumstances. However, with God, there is always a solution to every problem because with God, all things are possible. The Almighty God always supports us as beloved children. Jeremiah 29:11 says:

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Another thing that causes problems in families is pride. The Bible declares that arrogance precedes ruin, and pride precedes a fall (Proverbs 16:18). Pride in the lives of family members will attract the anger of God upon them. Pride hinders God from acting in the family as He desires. It limits God’s work in the family. A prideful family can never experience the fullness of God’s favor, glory, and blessings. God resists the proud; He does not hide His disdain for pride. Therefore, a prideful family can never boast of God’s presence and all the blessings that come with it.

A family’s pride foretells danger for that family. In fact, pride is at the root of the evil that people do to each other. Family members are not spared from its destructive work.

This is how horrible pride can be. Joseph boasted about his spiritual gift of dreams and visions, as well as his father’s preference over his brothers, and he almost got killed by his brothers. The couple, Adam and Eve, were too sure of themselves and no longer considered God. The result was the loss of peace and ultimately destruction. We must teach our families to fear God and always give Him glory.

Pride leads to disobedience and rebellion. It causes conflicts and disunity. A prideful person puts their entire family in trouble. Pride is a sin because it makes people self-centered instead of focusing on God. In Matthew 3:9, John the Baptist warned the Pharisees and Sadducees against their pride and their claim to have Abraham as their father. Naaman almost missed his miracle and God’s visitation to his family because of his pride.

I pray that pride does not destroy your hearth, in the name of Jesus. Any spirit of pride assigned against your life will die, in the name of Jesus.
