So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17

We have reached the final step of this prayer method, and it is by no means the least. Many feel guilty for not dedicating enough time to reading the Bible. In this simple and effective method, I am about to reveal a truly powerful and accessible solution for everyone.

First, it’s important to understand that reading the Bible is not about speed reading. What matters is not the number of chapters read, but rather what you retain and how God speaks to you through His word. This is why I use this technique, which has benefited many people, including myself.

Let’s say you have little time this morning. You don’t need to read multiple chapters. You calmly progress in your daily reading until a passage grabs your attention. You then stop to accomplish this: Example: Imagine you are reading chapter 4 of the book of Proverbs and suddenly verse 18 captures your attention, speaks to you! You then pause your reading to jot down this passage in your prayer journal:

The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” Proverbs 4:18

Next, you write a short reflection on this passage, as in this example: “This passage speaks to me so much this morning. When we walk the path of the righteous, in God’s wisdom, in obedience, the light grows brighter from glory to glory. This means to me that I must continue to maintain a good attitude at work, even if the context is not easy. God will make His light shine, and in the end, I will triumph. Thank you, Lord, for this revelation in my life this morning.

After writing how this passage resonates with you, turn to God in prayer: “I declare by faith that the light will grow brighter in my life, as you, Lord, give me the strength to maintain a good attitude at work. This morning, I choose the path of the righteous, the way of wisdom. I know that with You, Lord, I cannot lose. Amen!”

Finally, even though you only read eighteen verses, what a revelation! You can meditate on this passage throughout the day and remember how God spoke to you this morning. I assure you that this new approach to reading the Bible will enrich your faith and love for the Scriptures. If some days you have more time, just follow the same method by adding more content.

But remember, don’t forget: it’s not the quantity of chapters that matters, it’s not a speed reading challenge! It’s simply an opportunity to listen and hear God’s voice, to strengthen your faith by nourishing yourself with the daily bread…
