Power Demonstration: Understanding the Holy Spirit and His Gifts

$16,07

The ministry of the Spirit is the calling for every New Testament Christian. It is not limited to pastors, prophets, and apostles; it is for all who have received the Spirit of Christ. In “Power Demonstration,” Bishop Charles Agyinasare reveals that many early Christians, such as Ananias, who prayed for Paul, and Stephen the deacon, were ordinary believers, not apostles. They ministered not only the word but also the Spirit, with faith and power, to the glory of God. They were able to do so because they understood the Holy Spirit and His operations.

In this book, the author explores the Holy Spirit and His role in the Church, His gifts to believers, and what followers of Christ must do to experience the manifestation of the Holy Spirit’s heavenly endowments. Bishop Agyinasare does not merely present theoretical concepts; he shares numerous testimonies that illustrate the practical application of these teachings. This book serves as a comprehensive manual for every believer on how to demonstrate the Spirit and power. You will be informed, inspired, and equipped to perform the works of Christ, draw the lost into God’s kingdom, and bring glory to God. Your life will never be the same!

PREFACE

The Holy Spirit is omnipotent – he is all-powerful and does whatever he wants. He distributes his gifts as he desires to believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is nothing he can’t do.

Before ascending to heaven, Jesus promised his disciples to wait for the power of the Holy Spirit.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

The disciples waited patiently in prayer as Jesus commanded them, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and power on the day of Pentecost. They preached the gospel with great energy, conviction, and joy, and God honored His word in their lives with miraculous signs and wonders.

Christians today enjoy the same inestimable privileges as the first disciples. There is nothing more pathetic than religious exercises devoid of the Holy Spirit. Christians must understand the dynamics of the Holy Spirit and turn their eyes to the promise and power of Jesus Christ. When they do, their faith will not be a struggle to survive, but surplus due to the power of the Holy Spirit. This power is linked to the will of God. It is power over sin and Satan, freedom from sin and bondage, and the power to carry out the commandments of Christ. This is the resurrection power Paul prayed for in Ephesians 1:19-20:

And what is for us who believe the infinite greatness of his power, manifesting itself effectively by the virtue of his strength. He displayed it in Christ, raising him from the dead, and seating him at his right hand in the heavenly places.

This power cannot be imitated or learned; it is available only to Christians and is to be used for the glory of Christ and not for personal advantage. This book argues that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not to be used for pride and self-interest, but are to be used for the advancement of the knowledge of Christ – a means of bearing witness to the reality of Jesus Christ. We must open our hearts and our wills to the power and joy that the Spirit of God desires to pour into our lives.

What are spiritual gifts? A spiritual gift is a supernatural ability given by Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit to the believer. Every believer has the manifestation of at least one spiritual gift.

I would like all men to be like me; but each has a particular gift from God, one in one way, the other in another. (1 Cor. 7:7)

The purpose of spiritual gifts is to glorify the Father.

You are worthy, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for you created all things, and it is by your will that they exist…
