The Bible teaches us that a human being is a spirit who has a body and a soul. The body allows the being to live on earth. Without the body, no spiritual entity can operate on earth. Satan and his demons, therefore, need a body to manifest their plans on earth. It is important to understand that in the spiritual world, the body is a house, a dwelling, or a habitation. This is why the bodies of God’s children are the temples of the Holy Spirit. It is also the reason why the Bible speaks of demons wanting to return to the empty house from which they were cast out.

“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.” 1 Corinthians 6:19

“When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.” Luke 11:24-26

Given that bodies are houses, we can deduce that children’s houses are new and therefore unoccupied dwellings. Just as most people prefer a new house for its many advantages, so does the enemy prefer children. Not only can a child potentially live longer than an adult, but by attacking the child, the enemy can be the first occupant, giving him enough space to cause damage.

Haven’t you noticed that whenever psychologists or psychiatrists want to understand a person’s deviant character, they always start by looking into their childhood? Most of the cases of deliverance from evil spirits that I have personally handled as an assistant pastor originated in early childhood.

The spiritual entities I was led to cast out had very often infiltrated the body since childhood. They had settled in as masters and had had time to cause damage without anyone suspecting. Let us never forget that just as a new house has more value than an old house, so too is the value of our children far superior to the value of adults.

Whoever controls the children controls the future. Let us not let the enemy take control, for he comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full. From birth, let us hurry to give control of our children to God by dedicating them to Him and instructing them in the ways of the Lord with seriousness and determination.” John 10:10

“On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived. When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, ‘Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord’)” Luke 2:21-23
