Traveling Unseen.
Traveling unseen is a remarkable thing. You can witness what really goes on behind the scenes, pray, or learn things without physical interaction. I think of the story of Elisha listening to the king’s plans in his bedroom in 2 Kings.
“…This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, ‘Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?’ ‘None of us, my lord the king,’ said one of his officers, ‘but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.‘ (2 Kings 6:11-12)
God has many different reasons for wanting you to travel unseen in the spiritual realms, just like Elisha.
Reality and Evidence
One of the things that initially challenged me was the fact that I had no framework for much of what God was doing. I know these things are mentioned in the Bible, but I had never learned these things growing up. In fact, I had learned quite the opposite, like most people.
So even though my encounters and experiences were completely interactive and fully conscious, I would still consider them as “only” dreams. It was as supernatural as could be at the time. What the Lord did was show me, by traveling unseen, that I was indeed in reality. It wasn’t a dream, but it was reality in the spiritual dimension.
Checking on the Children
I quickly learned while passionately praying for my children that I could be translated to where they were. I could see where they were, who they were with, and what they were doing. When my son Matt was living in Bloomington, Indiana, for school, I spent several nights in prayer vigils for him. The Lord, in His mercy, allowed me to translate to Matt’s apartment and watch over him. I would stand in the apartment with Matt and his friends and observe and listen to what they were talking about.
The next day, I would tell Matthew what had happened and relay who was with him and what everyone was doing and talking about. In our household, this is no longer strange but just a normal part of being a child of God.
The Lord has also allowed (allows) this with my daughter Angie. It is a real blessing to be able to go and make sure your children are okay.
Lord, I Need to Know
Sometimes, people have urgent needs, and we really need to know how to pray. I had a prayer request from a family that was at their wit’s end. Sometimes, just like Elisha, the Lord will take you unseen so you know exactly how to pray.
A young couple repeatedly asked for prayer for their young son. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, he had become violent and was doing mean things to other younger children at school. This had seemed to come out of nowhere, and the parents were at their wit’s end. The parents had taken him to specialists and others, but nothing helped. By the time I was asked to pray, this had been going on for almost a year.
I had prayed for him for a few weeks, and there was no change. I said to the Lord, “Lord, you have to show me what is going on. What is tormenting this child that he acts this way?” Be sure of one thing. If you ask, you will receive. This is why we need to move in the supernatural of God…
After praying this prayer, the Lord took me in spirit to show me what was happening in this boy’s life. When no one else was there, an older relative was tormenting this young boy. Terrorizing him so severely and wildly that the boy was completely traumatized. The Lord actually let me watch this. The boy had no one to tell (out of fear) and no hope.
This fear, frustration, and despair manifested in him trying to do something to get help in some way.
I witnessed this in the invisible realm and I must be honest and tell you that I felt sick watching this, and if I had had the opportunity, I would have escorted this older relative to their “great reward” personally. I was very surprised that the boy hadn’t tried to harm himself.
No one had suspected this relative because the person was “very religious”…
