Dr. Don Gossett was more than a preacher, teacher, author, broadcaster, and missionary evangelist. He was a testament to the transformative power of faith, a dedicated family man, and a figure often regarded as one of God’s “generals of the faith.”

Born into a godless household, Don’s longing for the purity of Jesus led him to a profound spiritual awakening at the tender age of 12. Five years later, he heeded the divine call to share the Gospel, with a fervent mission to bring his own unbelieving family members to Christ. Overcoming a lifelong speech impediment through God’s grace, Don was propelled into a lifetime of preaching and spreading the message of salvation.

During his formative years as a Bible college student, Don’s heart burned with an unshakable passion to win souls for Jesus. He began preaching in parks, modest churches, and wherever willing ears could be found.

Gifted as a writer, Don’s talents came to the attention of his first mentor, William Freeman, a renowned healing evangelist of the late 1940s. Evangelist Freeman recognized Don’s potential and invited him to serve as the editor of his widely read magazine. Don also became his personal assistant, afternoon service speaker, and crusade manager, embarking on a seven-year journey across America.

Don further honed his skills under the tutelage of the legendary evangelist, T.L. Osborn, who affectionately referred to Don as “my friend for a lifetime.” It was during a challenging period of his early spiritual journey that Don had a profound revelation. He realized that his words had been in opposition to God’s promises, perpetuating fear and lack in his life. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of his transformation, as he started to align his words with God’s truth.

Don’s life was forever changed as he practiced agreeing with the scriptures provided by the Lord to counteract fear, lack, sickness, and adversity. His powerful encounters with God’s Word became the foundation of his preaching and writing, inspiring countless individuals worldwide to experience the transformative impact of aligning their words with God’s promises.

Don Gossett played a pioneering role in unveiling life-changing truths about the power of spoken words and praise. His classic works, including “What You Say Is What You Get,” “My Never Again List,” “There’s Dynamite In Praise,” “The Power of Your Words,” and “Words That Move Mountains” (the last two co-authored with E.W. Kenyon), have been translated into 18 languages and distributed to more than 25 million readers worldwide.

Driven by the humility and boldness exemplified by Jesus, Don’s message emphasized that through God’s Word and the Holy Spirit, believers could become overcomers in life. His influential audio series, such as “I’m Sold On Being Bold” and “Living Without Fear,” as well as his renowned daily radio broadcast, BOLD BIBLE LIVING, which began in 1961, have touched lives in 89 nations.

Around the globe, both laypeople and national leaders have been deeply moved and inspired by Don’s preaching and writings. Many consider him their “spiritual father,” acknowledging the profound impact of his teachings on their ministries.

As a missionary evangelist, Don traveled to 65 nations, witnessing signs and wonders follow the proclamation of God’s Word. His dedication to spreading the Gospel never waned, even after the passing of his beloved wife, Joyce, in 1991.

In 1995, Don joyfully entered into marriage with Debra, forming a dynamic “husband and wife ministry team.” Together, they continued to minister globally, sharing God’s Word and witnessing miraculous confirmations. They also actively engaged in radio ministry, teaching, and gospel publications. In addition, they pastored a church in Vancouver, Canada, for six years.

Don and Debra’s mission was clear: to guide others toward a fulfilling and victorious life through the Word of God. Their ministry, operating as “Bold Bible Living” in the USA and “Bold Living Society” in Canada, has continued to touch hearts worldwide.

Though Dr. Don Gossett departed this earthly realm in 2014, Debra carries on the ministry, fulfilling the role her husband entrusted to her. Their mission remains unchanged: to help individuals experience God’s forgiveness, healing, and empowerment, ultimately fulfilling their destinies in Him.
