Service in God’s Kingdom is a covenant that holds a sure outcome, if the man involved fulfils his end of the bargain with tireless and faithful approach.
As it is written, My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David. Psalm 89:34-35
The highest form of service is hunting after souls in the sight of God. Redemption of souls is God’s number one interest on the earth and that was the only reason He sent Jesus. It is not enough to work; we must know how to make it work. We must know what it takes to make our labour profitable. In all labour there is profit but what must I do and how must I do it to make it profitable? Remember, scripture says, The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city (Ecclesiastes 10:15).
There is no greater motivation than to know that our labour guarantees a future. Servanthood begins in the heart. Our attitude to Kingdom service is a mirror of our heart. We can’t have a heart for God and not give our all to His service. We either have a heart for God or we have a heart for the opposite; we can’t be neutral. We cannot serve God and mammon, we will have to choose one and despise the other.
